About works:

The illustrations from the “Imaginations II” cycle, digital painting (Adobe Photoshop CS4), 2014. All of the works feature photographic motifs of my hands, including the motif of my hand with a painter's palette. These illustrations were inspired by the “Evviva l'arte!” poem by Kazimierz Przerwa-Tetmajer from 1894.

Evviva l'arte!

(…)
Evviva l'arte! Pride is our god,
Glory is our sun, we, kings without land!
We may starve to death somewhere beneath the threshold,
But like eagles with broken wings –
So go ahead! What is worth anything but fame?
Evviva l'arte!

Evviva l'arte! In our breasts burn
Fires placed by God himself:
So we look at the crowd with our heads held high,
We will not give laurels for a golden crown,
And though our lives are worthless:
Evviva l'arte!
