About the book:

I invite you to read my book entitled "Educational Manifesto. How the Education System Ignores the Educational Needs of Young Artists - About Entrance Exams to Fine Arts High Schools and the Academy of Fine Arts."

In the book, I analyze the problems faced by students and young people (after their high school graduation) preparing to take entrance exams to fine arts high schools and to the Academy of Fine Arts in Poland. I present practical aspects of preparing for the entrance exams to art schools in Poland. I explain what fine arts lessons consist of, what the so-called ‘corrections of works ’ mean, and I write how fine arts should be taught so that the candidate passes the art exam. I describe in detail the specifics of entrance exams to the Academy of Fine Arts and state fine arts high schools. I present examples of exam tasks along with their analysis.

I describe separately the problems related to art education in Poland. I present my own idea of an educational reform that takes into account the educational needs of artistically talented students. I also argue with the philosopher Ivan Illich. I critically evaluate the author's ideas regarding the education reform, which he included in his book entitled "Deschooling Society".

I devote a separate chapter to AI. I outline a vision of the evolution of artistic education in a future world dominated by AI.

In the book, I also discuss selected issues in the field of professional practice of fine arts: making an artistic anatomical drawing of the human figure and painting in the techniques of the old masters (oil painting technologies).

I prepared the book as a artistic design. I designed it according to the golden ratio rule, common in book design in the past centuries. This graphic design perfectly reflects the spirit of the book, as its subject matter is the classical fields of art: drawing and painting.

The page's print area is marked by a frame with a red edge, and the area of this frame is marked by the golden ratio, shown here by green lines. The marked green horizontal line is very important - it marks the upper edge of the lowered column of text on the first page of each chapter. I have traditionally placed page numbers and the running header outside the marked area of the text column.

In my book, I have spoken critically about AI, the growing problem of AI taking away work from graphic designers. I have expressed these thoughts in the chapters entitled "Deus ex machina" and "The Graphic Design of this Book". A fragment of the second of these chapters reads:

"I made many elements from the initial pages of this book analogously, simply drawing with a pencil or marker on a piece of paper and scanning the resulting drawings. This is my protest against the increasing role of artificial intelligence in graphic design. I do not agree to this. I do not want to compete with artificial brains in creative activities, nor to agree to co-authorship in my projects being forced on me, as artificial intelligence modules are taking over more and more commands in graphic design programs. I do not want to be replaced in thinking.
Artistic drawing on a piece of paper is an area of creation in which I do not feel threatened as a creator. Therefore, in psychological comfort, with satisfaction, I am currently exploiting this area of creation."

That is why the graphic design of my book is unusual. It is my artistic book.
