About work:

The toy presented here “The Doll and Her House” it is a unique work, because I made it only in one copy. In 1995 the Doll won an extra-statutory award ‘for special artistic values’ in a nationwide competition entitled “The Doll and Her House” in the field of designing toys for children. The competition was organized by the Institute of Industrial Design in Warsaw and the Museum of Toys and Fun in Kielce / Poland (formerly: Museum of Toys in Kielce), under the auspices of the Ministry of National Education (Poland). The chairman of the jury of the competition was Adam Kilian.

The Doll was presented at two post-competition exhibitions: at the Institute of Industrial Design in Warsaw and then at the Museum of Toys in Kielce.

At the Faculty of Graphic Arts of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, the concept of implementing the Doll for production was considered. However, this idea fell through because many elements of the work were judged too cumbersome to reproduce in an industrial manner.

Since autumn 2018, the Doll has been presented at the permanent exhibition at the Toy Museum in Kudowa-Zdrój in Poland.

Dollhouse dimensions: 69 cm (L) x 59 cm (W) x 52 cm (H).
